Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Juke collects, why, and how you can control it. It covers the Juke app (app.jukememory.com) and this website (jukememory.com).
Information Juke collects
Account and profile: the phone number or email address you sign up with, a one-time verification code (handled by our authentication provider, not stored by Juke as a password), your display name, your optional profile photo and banner, and an optional short "about" bio.
Contacts you add: the Juke contacts you connect with inside the app. Juke does not read or import your device's native address book.
Content you share or create: messages you send in Juke, photos, files, and other attachments, stickers, Status updates, and the reminders, tasks, payments, ideas, notes, and contact details saved to your Smart Inbox — along with the original text, photo, or audio you shared to create them.
Voice and audio: recordings you make for Quick Capture, Concierge, or voice messages, and the text transcript generated from them.
Calls: metadata about the 1:1 audio calls you make or receive in Juke — who called whom, when, and for how long — not a recording of the call itself.
Device and notifications: your device's push notification token and platform (iOS, Android, or web), used to deliver message notifications, and your notification preferences.
Study Coach activity: your practice sessions and answers for the civics Study Coach.
Basic usage: a small number of first-party product-usage events (for example, that the app was opened, a share was received, an item was saved, or the Wheel was customized), stored in Juke's own database. Juke does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
How Juke uses this information
To operate the features described above: to create and secure your account, to deliver and organize messages and shared content, to run Smart Inbox classification, and to power the Wheel, calls, Status, and Study Coach.
To send the notifications you've asked for, and to respond when you talk to Juke directly (Concierge, Quick Capture, and similar AI-assisted features) — see "AI features and memory" below for exactly what that involves.
To keep Juke safe: to enforce blocking, to review reports you or others file, and to look into abuse of the service.
Juke does not sell your information, and does not use it to serve you third-party ads.
AI features and memory
Turning an everyday shared message into a reminder, task, payment, idea, or note is handled by a rule-based parser that runs as part of Juke's own service — it looks for dates, amounts, and similar patterns in what you shared. That everyday classification does not send your message content to a third-party AI provider.
When you talk to Juke directly — through Concierge, Quick Capture, or a similar assistant feature — the relevant text (or a transcript of your voice) is sent to OpenAI to generate a response, your voice is sent to OpenAI's Whisper model to be transcribed, and a spoken reply is generated using ElevenLabs. These requests are made from Juke's own backend under your authenticated account, not directly from your device to those providers.
"Memory" in Juke means the reminders, notes, and other items saved to your Smart Inbox. You decide what Juke keeps: archiving an item removes it from your Smart Inbox but keeps it in Juke's memory; choosing Forget Completely deletes it outright.
Calls
Juke supports 1:1 audio calls between contacts. Call audio is carried by Stream's real-time communications infrastructure and is not recorded or transcribed by Juke. Supabase stores the call metadata described above so you can see your call history and so calls can be authorized.
Storage, security, and where data lives
Juke's backend runs on Supabase, which provides our database, authentication, file storage, and the serverless functions that power features like push notifications and account deletion. Access to your data is restricted by database-level security rules scoped to your own account.
Data in transit between your device and Juke's servers is encrypted with standard HTTPS/TLS. Juke does not currently implement end-to-end encryption for messages, calls, or other content — Juke's infrastructure can technically access content stored on its servers. We don't claim end-to-end encryption anywhere in the app or on this site, and you shouldn't assume it.
You can add an extra, device-only layer of protection to your private memories with a PIN or biometrics (Face ID, fingerprint, or your browser's platform authentication). That lock is stored on your device, not on Juke's servers.
External services Juke actually uses
Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and backend functions.
OpenAI — generates Concierge/AI responses and transcribes voice audio (Whisper).
ElevenLabs — converts Juke's spoken replies to audio.
Stream — carries the audio for 1:1 calls.
Apple, Google, and Expo's push notification services — deliver push notifications to your device.
Juke doesn't integrate any advertising, tracking, or analytics SDK beyond the first-party usage events described above.
Notifications
Juke sends push notifications for new messages using the device token described above. You can turn off message notifications, or turn off message previews, from inside the app at any time.
Retention and deletion
Your content stays available until you remove it: archiving a Smart Inbox item removes it from view but keeps it in Juke's memory; Forget Completely deletes it.
You can delete your account from inside the app. Doing so permanently deletes your messages, stickers, Status posts, profile photo/banner, and your account itself. Conversations you shared with other people remain available to them, without your content. This action can't be undone.
Your rights and controls
You control what gets saved to your Smart Inbox; who can see your profile photo, "about" bio, and contact info (everyone, your contacts, or nobody); who can see your Status updates; and whether another user can reach you at all (block).
You can ask us for a copy of, or ask us to delete, your personal information by contacting us — see "Contact" below.
Children and minimum age
Juke is not directed at children. You must meet the minimum age required in your country to use an online service like Juke on your own (in most places, 13 or older) to create an account. If we learn that someone below that age has created one, we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Juke's features change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and, for material changes, we'll look for a reasonable way to let you know inside the app.
